Established in 1939, Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) is one of the oldest medical universities of Kyrgyzstan. The first batch of the University consisted of about 200 students. INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF KYRGYZSTAN
The International University of Kyrgyzstan was established on March 11, 1993, with the status of an international higher educational institution. The founders of the university were the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic while the help with the foundation of the college was given by the State University of San Francisco (USA). On February 12, 2003, by the Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 53, the university was converted into the "International University of Kyrgyzstan" academic consortium for Training, Research, and Practice.

The applicant has passed the higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10 + 2, Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two year of study comprising of physics, chemistry, and biology.
